If you have been in business long enough (or in advertising) you know that any business needs advertising. I have been in both of them and I know that the only reason advertising may be an expense and not an investment is when it has been poorly planned or poorly executed.

You may agree with me or not, but to me churches (not religion, lets make a difference there) are just another business. Normally their advertising is the cheapest and more effective one, that is the word of mouth mixed with faith. But with more churches out there, competition has increased and more and more they are going into traditional advertising.

Here is a nice example. And while they will not change my mind and I will probably never visit their church, they in fact got me into visiting their site. So, at some level, their advertising worked!
